UpRightDown invites anybody who can tell a story, in whatever medium, to submit: writers, painters, photographers, singers, composers, actors, storytellers, hypertexters, animators, moviemakers, et cetera. We are craving to publish, not only written work, but videos, cartoons, comic strips, and anything else than can be displayed in a browser.

ROLLING SUBMISSIONS

We are still accepting submissions for URD # 1. We'll be adding new work as it comes, so there is no real deadline for any issue--until we decide to put it in the archive and move on to a new plot, a new issue.

A FEW RULES

VARIATION: Participants do not invent their own stories; they retell the one which is given. You may not deviate from the common plot: that's the story you must tell, without (substantially) adding to it or subtracting from it. Of course the characters will have thoughts, and these thoughts may form their own sub-stories; and of course every participant will add this or that detail not accounted for in the common plot; but the main action of your story, the substance of it, must remain as given.
NAMES AND TITLE: You may name the story and your characters as you please.
LENGTH: Writers, please limit your story to 1000 words. In general, the shorter (and crazier) the better. Brevity: wit's soul.

To submit, click HERE (submissions at uprightdown dot com).

Writers, please paste your text into the body of your e-mail message, or attach an RTF file; others please send link where we may view your work, e.g., myspace, youtube, personal site, or attach a small fil).

Copyright: Authors retain all rights to their work. By submitting you acknowledge that the work you submit belongs to you, and that if you use somebody else's work, you have permission to do so from its legal owner.
